The Indian Army has released a notification for the Agniveer recruitment cycle 2026–27, announcing over 25,000 vacancies across the country. These positions are distributed zone-wise, so the exact number of vacancies may vary depending on your region.

Application Fee
The application fee is ₹250 for each category you apply for.

Age Limit
Candidates must fall within the following age criteria:
- General Categories: 17.5 to 21 years
- Women Military Police: 17.5 to 22 years
Eligible Date of Birth Range:
01 October 2004 to 01 April 2008
In special cases, such as widows of defence personnel who passed away during service, the upper age limit may be relaxed up to 30 years.

Educational Qualification
Agniveer (General Duty - GD)
Candidates must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) from a recognized board. A minimum of 45% overall marks is required across the main subjects, along with at least 33% in each subject. For boards that follow grading systems, equivalent grades such as ‘D’ or ‘C2’ may be considered.
Agniveer (Technical)
Candidates should have completed Class 12 in the Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks and at least 40% in each subject is required. Alternatively, candidates with Class 12 along with a one-year ITI certificate in a relevant trade are also eligible.
Agniveer (Clerk / Store Keeper Technical)
Candidates should have completed Class 12 in any stream such as Arts, Commerce, or Science. A minimum of 60% aggregate marks is required, along with at least 50% marks in each subject. Additionally, English and either Mathematics, Accounts, or Book Keeping must also have a minimum of 50% marks.
Agniveer Tradesman (10th Pass)
Applicants must have passed Class 10 from a recognized board. There is no strict requirement for overall percentage, but candidates should secure at least 33% marks in each main subject.
Agniveer Tradesman (8th Pass)
Candidates need to pass Class 8. There is no fixed aggregate percentage requirement, though having around 33% marks in basic subjects is generally expected.
Agniveer GD (Women Military Police)
This role is specifically for female candidates. Applicants must have passed Class 10 with at least 45% overall marks and 33% in each subject. Holding a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license can provide an advantage during the selection process.
Sepoy Pharma
Candidates must have completed Class 12 along with a Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) with approximately 55% marks, or a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) with at least 50% marks. Registration with the State Pharmacy Council is mandatory.
Soldier Technical (Nursing Assistant)
Applicants should have passed Class 12 in the Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks and 40% in each subject is required. Candidates who studied Botany and Zoology instead of Biology are also eligible.
JCO (Religious Teacher)
Eligibility varies depending on the candidate’s religion. For example:
- Hindu candidates require qualifications such as Sanskrit Sahastri or Acharya along with knowledge of rituals.
- Sikh candidates should have a bachelor’s degree along with Gyani in Punjabi.
- Christian candidates must be ordained priests.
- Muslim candidates should have qualifications like Alim or Urdu Mahir.
- Buddhist candidates must be ordained monks.

Physical Standards (General Overview)
For Male Candidates (GD / Tradesman):
- Height: approximately 169–170 cm
- Chest: around 77 cm with 5 cm expansion
For Technical and Clerk Roles:
- Height requirement is usually slightly lower, around 162–165 cm
Physical Fitness Tests:
- 1.6 km run in about 5 minutes 45 seconds
- Pull-ups (around 10 repetitions)
- 9-feet ditch jump
- Zig-zag balance test
For Female Candidates:
- 1.6 km run in approximately 7 minutes 30 seconds
- Long jump and high jump tests
Weight should be proportionate to height and age as per Army medical standards.
Relaxations
Height and chest relaxations may be provided for candidates from specific regions such as the North East, Gorkha areas, or Ladakh. These relaxations can range roughly between 5 to 10 cm depending on the category.
Medical Standards
Candidates must be medically fit with no major health issues. Good eyesight is required, and certain posts may have restrictions such as no color blindness. Tattoos are only permitted on specific parts of the body as per official guidelines.
