Eligibility Criteria :
Age Limit-
- General Age Limit: 18 to 27 years
Post-specific variations:
- Trades (Gardener, Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Waiter): 18 to 23 years
- Carpenter: 18 to 25 years
Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules.
Educational Qualification :
1. Constable (Veterinary)-
10th pass with Biology
Minimum 1 year experience in animal treatment at a recognized veterinary facility
2. Constable (Driver – Male)-
10th pass
Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License required
3. Trades (Gardener, Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Waiter)-
10th pass
One of the following:

Must qualify trade test
Constable (Carpenter)-

Selection Process :
The selection process for SSB Constable Tradesman Recruitment 2026 consists of multiple stages designed to evaluate physical fitness, knowledge, trade skills, and medical fitness of candidates.
Stage 1: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Standard Test (PST)
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- This stage assesses the candidate’s physical endurance.
For Male Candidates:
- Run: 4.8 km in 24 minutes
For Female Candidates:
- Run: 2.4 km in 18 minutes
Important Points:

PET is qualifying in nature only (no marks are awarded )

- Ex-servicemen are exempted from PET, but must appear in other stages
Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Candidates who clear PET will undergo PST.
This stage includes:
- Measurement of height
- Chest measurement (for male candidates)
- Verification of physical standards as per recruitment rules
Stage 2: Written Examination (Computer-Based Test)
Candidates qualifying PST will be called for the written examination conducted in online mode.
